Inglewood was established as early as 1875, although, it wasn't until 1911 that it was annexed to Calgary. It is Calgary's oldest neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is just a few blocks away from Elbow River, which means it is near pathways where residents can walk or bike.
The neighbourhood is also close to downtown Calgary. It is also home to the Business Revitalization Zone, which provides a lot of work opportunities to Calgarians. Inglewood is also a popular shopping and arts district.
One of the famous sites in Inglewood is the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, which is a large urban wild reserve. Over 270 species of birds can be seen at the sanctuary. Inglewood is also near Fort Calgary Historic Park and Calgary Zoo.
