Silverado, which sits at the southern edge of Calgary, was annexed to the city in 1984. It was established as a neighbourhood in 2005. It is bordered to the north by Stoney Trail and to the east by Sheriff King Street. It is also near Macleod Trail.
To the west of Silverado is Spruce Meadows, a multipurpose recreational facility. It is most famous for its equestrian show jumping complex. The influence of Spruce Meadows in Silverado is pretty evident. After all, Spruce Meadows was founded in 1975, three decades before the establishment of Silverado.
Residents can enjoy shopping and dining at the many shops and restaurants at the nearby Shawnessy Towne Centre.
