Capitol Hill was officially established in 1984. But it's an old community, which is why you can find buildings that were built in the 1910s there. The community really experienced a building boom in the 1950s.
The neighbourhood is located north of the Trans-Canada Highway, which traverses all 10 provinces of the country. Capitol Hill is also bisected by 14th Street West. It is served by Capitol Hill Elementary and St. Pius Bilingual Elementary School. The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is also south of Capitol Hill.
The area is bordered by Confederation Park to the north. This is a great place for Capitol Hill residents to unwind and to stay active. There's also a nine-hole golf course in the park.
