Cedarbae was annexed to Calgary in 1956. By 1973, it was already established as a neighbourhood. It is conveniently located near major roads: Southland Drive borders it to the north, Anderson Road to the south, 24 Street W to the east, and Tsuut'ina Trail to the west.
The neighbourhood's community association is very active in providing interesting pastime for its residents. There are karate, yoga, and jelly bean dance classes provided by the Cedarbae Community Association.
The neighbourhood is also served by Cedarbae Elementary, Louis Riel School, and Henry Wise Wood High School. After school, children can visit Southland Leisure Centre for various indoor activities. The centre is just nearby.
