Christie Park used to be part of the Municipal District of Rocky View until it was annexed to Calgary in 1956. It was officially established as a neighbourhood in 1990. After the establishment, developments followed.
The neighbourhood is bordered to the north by Strathcona Drive, Avenue S to the south, Sarcee Trail to the east, and 69 Street W to the west. Christie Park is served by Olympic Heights Elementary.
Christie Park residents have access to many shopping centres, restaurants, and entertainment areas in neighbouring towns. There are also parks within the community as well as hockey and skating rinks.
