Crescent Heights is located immediately north of downtown Calgary. Alberta leader Archibald J. McArthur founded the area in 1895. It was incorporated as a village in 1908 but didn't become part of Calgary until three years later. It was established as a neighbourhood in 1914.
It is surrounded by major roads making most places in Calgary accessible. It is bordered to the north by the Trans-Canada Highway, to the south by Memorial Drive, and Edmonton Trail and 4th Street NW to the east and west, respectively.
The neighbourhood is served by Crescent Heights High School. Residents of Crescent Heights also enjoy the views and pathways centered on Bow River, which also borders the neighbourhood to the south.
