Originally a rail station, Crossfield is located on the Calgary-Edmonton line of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The town, located on Highway 2A, was founded in 1892.
It wasn’t long before the town started to become a dynamic community with a post office, general store, a hotel, and a school. By 1907, Crossfield was incorporated as a village. It wasn’t until 1980 that it was officially established as a town.
