Falconridge was established in 1979. It was originally part of Rocky View until its annexation to Calgary in 1961. The Falconridge Blvd borders the neighbourhood to the west. Other major roads that border Falconridge are McKnight Blvd to the south, 64 Avenue N to the north, and 68 Street E to the east.
The neighbourhood also has its own eponymous elementary school. There are also a number of nearby public and private schools to serve the entire community. Active residents enjoy the abundance of green in Falconridge--from parks to sports fields.
Falconridge is also served by the North of McKnight Community Resource Centre, which provides various social services to the residents. Services include counselling, financial aid, and baby clinics.
