Mayland Heights was annexed to Calgary in 1910. But it wasn't until 1962 that the neighbourhood was established. It was also formerly known as Crossroads. The area is bordered by the Trans-Canada Highway to the north, Memorial Drive to the south, Barlow Trail to the east, and Deerfoot Trail to the west.
The neighbourhood has an abundance of green spaces, which makes it an ideal place for active people. It has easy access to major recreational paths in Calgary, which means a lot of alternatives for walking and biking.
Downtown Calgary is also nearby, which is very convenient for Mayland Heights residents. Shopping centres, restaurants, and specialized shops are just minutes away. Not only that, the Calgary Zoo is also easily accessible from Mayland Heights.
