Monterey Park is named after a city in California, which has been dubbed one of the best places in to live in America by Money Magazine. Monterey Park in Calgary is the same way--it is one of the best places to live in Canada. The neighbourhood also takes on a California theme, from its architecture to the street names.
It is easily accessible, bordered by major roads with McKnight Blvd to the north, Trans-Canada Highway to the south, 84 Street E to the east, and 68 Street E. The neighbourhood, which was established in 1985, is at the eastern edge of Calgary.
Monterey Park is well served with schools and also has a number of greeneries and sports centres to keep residents active.
