Established in 1994, Panorama Hills is on the northern edge of Calgary. It is north of Country HIlls Blvd. In fact, the neighbourhood was developed from land that used to be part of Country Hills Golf Course.
Panorama Hills may be a new neighbourhood but it is home to two historical sites: the Reverend George McDougall Cairn and John A. Lewis Quarry. McDougall was recorded as one of the earliest missionaries in Alberta. The quarry site, meanwhile, is an important part of Calgary's history.
Country Hills Golf Course is close by. Basic amenities and entertainment centres are found within the community, but anywhere is also accessible as Panorama Hills is bordered by major roads: Stoney Trail to the south, Harvest Hills Blvd to the east, and Beddington Trail to the west.
