Rideau Park is located west of Elbow River, a popular destination in Calgary. A lot of people canoe and raft on the river, while some picnic along the riverbanks. There are also surrounding pathways for people who want to walk and bike.
It's a gorgeous neighbourhood with a lot of greens that beautifully contrast the water from Elbow River. Development in Rideau Park started in the 1900s. Noted resident Dr. Neville James Lindsay tried to build a castle on a ridge near the river but financial constraints left the structure unfinished. The ruins of the castle can still be seen today.
The neighbourhood is just a few kilometers from downtown. This means that shopping for essentials and fashion needs is not a problem. There are also a lot of restaurants to choose from downtown.
