Royal Oak is one of the newer established neighbourhoods in Calgary. It was established in 1997, eight years after it was annexed to the city.
It is home to palatial dwellings and luxurious lifestyle. The median income of the neighbourhood is more than double the national median income of Canada. The homes in the area are already a sight to behold, but the view of the Rocky Mountains is even better.
The neighbourhood is also home to a number of shopping centres, restaurants, and various events places. It also has an eponymous school, the Royal Oak School, which was opened by the Calgary Board of Education in 2010.
Royal Oak is bordered by major roads, too. There is Country Blvd to the north, Crowchild Trail to the south, Stoney Trail to the east, and Rocky Ridge Road to the west.
