South Calgary is located between Crowchild Trail and 14th Street W. It was annexed to Calgary in 1907 and was later established as a neighbourhood in 1914. Development didn't start until the 1950s though.
There are a number of city parks within South Calgary, which is nice not just for aesthetics but also for fitness. A good number of pathways are great for walking and biking. The community association also maintains an outdoor swimming pool.
South Calgary also has its own public library known as the Giuffre Family Library. The neighbourhood is also served by a number of schools within the community.
