This is the other half of Scarboro, which is known as Scarboro / Sunalta West. It is also referred to as Upper Scarboro, although, Scarboro / Sunalta West is the official name. The neighbourhood was annexed to Calgary in 1907 and was officially established in 1910.
Scarboro / Sunalta West is located south of Bow River, which is a major river that flows through Calgary. The neighbourhood actually has the perfect mix of nature and high-rise buildings since it is also located southwest of downtown Calgary.
The neighbourhood used to be on a property owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Just like its other half, Scarboro / Sunalta West is served by Sunalta Elementary and Sacred Elementary.
