Whitehorn became part of Calgary in 1961 and was officially established in 1973. It is bordered by McKnight Blvd to the north and 32 Avenue NE to the south, as well as 52 Street NE to the east and 36 Street NE to the west.
Southwest of Whitehorn is the Peter Lougheed Centre hospital. Residents will have peace of mind knowing they live near a medical centre. There are also a number of schools that serve Whitehorn: Chief Justice Milvain Elementary, Colonel J. Fred Scott Elementary, St. Wilfrid Elementary, and Annie Gale Junior High.
The neighbourhood is also serviced by the C-Train via Whitehorn station, making nearby shopping and entertainment centres, and recreational facilities easily accessible.
